A big part of the way your makeup looks depends on your eyebrows. They are a key part of your face and what makes you, you. You would be surprised at how much shaped, even eyebrows can change the entire look of your face. What if you didn’t have to worry about painting on your eyebrows every day? Sounds great, right? There is a new process of permanent eyebrows known as microblading. The Skin And Body Refinery would like to shed some light on microblading and how it can transform your eyebrows.
What is Microblading?
Permanent makeup is nothing new, but the microblading process is. This is a semi-permanent procedure in which a microblading pen is used to essentially draw on individual hairs to thicken and shape your brows. The final look is so natural, that it is gaining popularity quickly. If you have ever wanted to just ‘add a few’ strokes of hair here or there to help give your eyebrows more shape or make them more pronounced, that is exactly what microblading does. This can be a game changer for those that suffer from over plucking their brows during the 90s when a thin brow was popular. There are also those that suffer from conditions like alopecia and can greatly benefit from the procedure.
How to Prepare for Your Microblading Appointment
When preparing for your appointment, it is important to avoid plucking and changing the shape of your eyebrows beforehand. Your technician is going to be taking measurements and attempting to help you reshape your brows, and this is best done when they have a clean slate to work with. Don’t use any exfoliators 72 hours before the appointment to avoid you skin getting inflamed. Blood thinners should also be avoided before the procedure as well. If you are pregnant, breast feeding, or a diabetic it isn’t advised to have microblading done at all.
Communicate with Your Microblading Technician
When you are having your eyebrows microbladed, it is important that you communicate what you want your brows to look like to your technician. This is a time to be incredibly picky. You want the end result to be exactly what you want and the only way that is possible is with good communication between you and your technician.
Microblading is a Two-Step Process
Microblading is not going to be perfect after your first visit. This is a two-step process and you shouldn’t expect them to be perfect after your first appointment. There should be a follow-up appointment to touch-up your brows 6-10 weeks after your first visit.
